Julienne

A chopping bloc that uses form inspired by the monotonous julienned aesthetic of bell peppers to reflect the perceived monotony of preparation in the culinary arts. I remember, as a child, the multiple hours spent in the arduous preparation of ingredients for a tasty meal; the formal term for this is mis en place. It always seemed like a distasteful task. When I myself began to immerse into the culinary arts, the drudgery of preparation was something I found myself enjoying as a part of the creative process. Julienne was created, in a way, to honour that pleasantness of monotony.
